On New Year\u2019s Eve 2009 (is that really only 7 days ago?<\/em>) we drove down to my brother\u2019s and spent the afternoon walking around Knypersley Pool.<\/p>\n

The Pool\u00a0<\/a>was designed by Thomas Telford and opened in 1827. Now it\u2019s owned by British Waterways and used as an angling lake.\u00a0 It\u2019s also a haven for people from South Cheshire and North Staffordshire in need of a stroll.\u00a0 My brother and I both consider angling to be a way of wasting an afternoon, so we took the families for a walk on the paths that surround the reservoir.<\/p>\n

It was a very frosty day so we wrapped up well before setting off.\u00a0 The cold weather made for some excellent photo-opportunities and I\u2019d recommend taking a camera of you\u2019re thinking of spending some time there.\u00a0 I\u2019d also implore you to take a flask and something to nibble on: there was no evidence of any refreshments available when we went, although I\u2019m told that on better days it\u2019s possible to find something to eat and drink.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
